Conclusion

Now that you've turned in your final projects, hopefully you have gained knowledge on Gothic Literature and stories that are considered "Gothic Literature." Through reading and investigating "The Raven" by Edgar Allan Poe, "The Minister's Black Veil" by Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, you've learned about the elements of Gothic Literature. We also hope you now understand where the idea of "Gothic" and "Gothic Literature" comes from, and how it has evolved since then.

Our discussions, written work, and final project have hopefully engaged your learning on this quintessential era in literature. You all have produced excellent work and displayed great critical thinking skills throughout this unit. We're confident you can write your own gothic stories!
